More than 100 awards of Excellence and Merit for multi-media communications programs, exhibits, sound, one-person efforts, community relations programs, employee publications, newspaper design, recruiting materials, and newspaper & special publications, International Association of Business Communicators, 1973 to present. Most recent were a Silver Quill Award for Communications Programs (2002) and 4 Silver Quill Awards of Excellence for Annual Reports & Color Publications, (1998) IABC U.S. District 1, New England, New York, New Jersey & Eastern PA.

  • American School for the Deaf Board of Directors, prestigious Award of Merit, in recognition of Barbara's 21 years of service on the Board including service as the first woman president in the late '90s. Presented October, 2007.
  • 2007 Silver Quill Award of Excellence for Special Event Communications.
  • Susan G. Komen for the Cure Ultimate Drive BMW Survivor Hero Award for volunteerism for breast cancer. June, 2007
  • Inducted into the Shriver Society honoring volunteers with long service in Special Olympics, Feb. 2007.
  • International Association of Business Communicators Research Foundation Lifetime Foundation Friend Award, International Conference, Vancouver, B.C. June 2000.
  • St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation "Stamp Out Breast Cancer" Volunteer Award, June,1999.
  • Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure and 10th Anniversary "Celebration of Life", Connecticut breast cancer survivor representative at the National Race and events at the home of Honorary Race Chairmen, Vice President and Mrs. Al Gore, June 1999.
