imagine nation

OPPORTUNITY:

The historic Family Center of Bristol built Imagine Nation children's museum, of Bristol during 1999 and 2000. In 2001, the magnificent building stood empty. Without development or public relations staff, and a very tight budget, they needed to create an identity for the museum and start up the final phase of the campaign -- $1.9 million..

SOLUTION/RESULTS:

The organization decided they could afford a one-year contract with a consultant, and chose Puffer PR Strategies. Acting as an adjunct to staff, Puffer’s work included an assessment, interim development, jump-started campaign direction, public relations and marketing, special events and more. A comprehensive image building project included creating an eye-catching logo with low-cost, flexible collateral materials– and even an address change, to One Pleasant Street. Other highlights included children’s workshops tied to planned exhibit themes, speaker events and a movie premiere. A fundraising structure was put into place and several corporate grants -- including ESPN and IBM were secured. At the end of the contract, The Family Center hired a development/PR employee.
